Fourth Birthday

Bailey is 4 years old today! I cannot believe that it has been 4 years already. I don't understand where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday she was a newborn baby who was totally dependant on me for everything and now I look @ her and see a little girl ready to start school and go to sleepovers . When she woke up this morning she peeked around the door into the bathroom and said, "Mommy, it's the Big Day. It's my Birthday!" How do you not melt? :)

We had a wonderful day today going to lunch @ Johnny Rockets and practicing our fishing skills in the backyard. She got some clothes for her birthday, a new barbie movie, sandals, coloring books, and a princess headband. She had such fun opening her presents this morning and got to choose the menu of meals for the entire day!

breakfast: pancakes

lunch: chocolate milkshake and sundae (Hey, it's her birthday)

dinner: tacos (she loves them!)

her Pinkalicious Princess Party is saturday and she is quite excited. She told her Gramma that she had to buy a pink dress to wear to the party and when Gramma asked what her mommy was going to wear she said, "she can wear whatever she wants. She is just going to serve the children." But, I bought a cute pink dress to wear, nonetheless! Of course, I've gone overboard AGAIN! We have a pink lemonade fountain, our babysitter is coming over to do makeup, and I am going to borrow all of the pink lanterns, fabric, and accessories I can get from my best florist friend :) It sure does help being in the wedding biz and having connections!

Here are some pictures from the Cinderella Ballet last week and presents this morning.

fender bender

Today Lia had her 18 month well visit. She is doing very well. She weighs 24 lbs. 3 oz, is 34 inches long and looks wonderful in all respects. On the way home from the visit, Bailey kept complaining that her tummy hurt. She was crying out and holding her tummy tightly so I was in a bit of a hurry to get out of the car (if you know what I mean.) So, I turned around to look @ her at one point and when I faced forward I saw the back of a huge Yukon approaching my windshield. Needless to say, I ended up hitting the car in front of me. I didn't do much damage-a very small dent in my front bumper and nothing in the gigantic mammoth of a vehicle that I hit because it was the trailer hitch that I actually connected with. So, no cops were involved and it's not even worth fixing the dent on my bumper. As soon as I got back in the car after talking to the lady who I hit this is the short conversation that ensued.
Bailey: "mommy, what happened?"
Me: "mommy got in a wreck."
Bailey: "maybe you should watch where you are going."
Me: "yes, Bailey I think I should."

That little girl is so sassy sometimes.

Princess Party

Bailey & Lia attended their first princess makeup party. It was hosted by Lyndsey, one of Bailey's friends from school. The girls had a blast playing hairstyling. Bailey left the party with almost a whole bottle of lotion, body spray, and body glitter in her hair. She told me on the way home, "My hair feels good. it's crunchy." I had to shampoo it 3 times to get the crunchiness out and her hair still smells very perfumey. Oh well, they had a tremendous time :)

Early Morning Quiet

It is 7:00 am and both girls are still sleeping peacefully! It is nothing short of a miracle in our home for this to occur. Bill has been out of town since Monday and he is returning today @ 12:47. Can't you tell I am ready for his arrival? Just had to share a sweet moment with Bailey. She has decided that she likes to write lullabies. This is one she wrote 2 nights ago:

"Lullaby, lullaby, I love my mommy. Lullaby, lullaby, I love my mommy."

She repeated it about 5 or 6 times and told me that was my lullaby from her. I have to admit I had tears in my eyes :)

Big Girl?

Lia has decided that she wears panties over her diapers. She also likes to sit on the potty and pretend to wipe her bum....Oh, how I wish she knew what she was doing. Maybe I'll get her potty trained before she turns 2. Wouldn't that be grand?

New Table

Here are some pics of our new dining room table :) Bailey doesn't need a booster seat when she sits @ this one and we have passed her seat down to Lia. Lia's other seat was way too tall for it. Oh well, another garage sale item. I swear, I can make about $1k on a garage sale with all the baby/kid stuff we have.

Earrings

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We went to a friend's party last night and the girls had fun lighting sparklers and watching daddy shoot fireworks with all the guys. We got to stay until 11:30! Both girls were exhausted when we left but Bailey told me this morning that she had the best time @ the party. We even got to sleep in until 7:45 this morning!!!!! Whew :) I never thought that I would think 7:45 was sleeping in.

Here are pics of Lia posing with some gorgeous dangley dress up earrings. She loves to put them on. She is also quite proud of her striped Hello Kitty socks. That is all she wants to wear. She is such a ham.

About Me

My photo
I am blessed to be able to stay home with my girlies and have a home based business. Someone told me once that I was the ultimate modern woman! I don't know if I'd go that far but I definitely love the fact that I can make money for my family and, at the same time, be there to experience all those "little moments" in my children's lives.
